A.M. Klein: Religious Philosophy and Ethics in His Writing
|
Abstract |
After an orthodox Jewish upbringing, Montreal poet, novelist and journalist A.M. Klein (1902-1972) searched for a creed more in keeping with twentieth century ideas. The author argues that Klein eventually turned to a religious philosophy which harmonized Judaism and a theory of emanation -- evident in Klein's 1951 novel, The Second Scroll.
