La métamorphose incomplète des anglophones du Québec : cohabitation ou voisinage
|
Abstract |
The author believes that Anglophones in Quebec are primarily a collectivity of individuals rather than a community, and (circa 2000) were divided politically between those who would like their rights protected within a Francophone society and those who would like freedom of choice in Canada within a society that grants equal linguistic rights to Anglophones and Francophones. His essay reads like a manifesto for his integrationist beliefs, which conflicted with William Johnson's confrontationalist approach when both sought the head of Alliance Quebec in the late 1990s. Johnson won, and Alliance Quebec eventually imploded and dissolved by 2005.
