Abstract |
An account of a duel at Quebec City in 1854 between George Irvine (1826-1897) and Thomas Pope. The correspondence for this pamphlet between Irvine and Pope, and between John Pentland (on behalf of Irvine) and John Young (on behalf of Pope) was compiled by Young. Both fired their pistols, neither hit the other. Irvine, a noted lawyer, went on to become a provincial Cabinet Minister, and the representative of English Quebec in the provincial government.
