| Abstract |
In 1991, the Task Force on English Education, chaired by Gretta Chambers (1927-2017), was created by the Quebec Minister of Education and tasked with determining the educational needs of the province's English-speaking population. In February 1992, the Task Force submitted its findings, referred to as the Chambers Report. The Commission de l'éducation en langue anglaise (CELA), created in 1993, is an outcome of the Chambers Report. In 2017, to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Chambers Report recommendations, the CELA examined what has changed since since 1992, what has remained unchanged and what remains to be done. The CELA's report was presented to the Ministre de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport in 2018. The CELA's report found that, after twenty-five years, most of the Chambers Report recommendations had not been implemented.
