Title |
Three Essays on Labor and Urban Economics
|
Abstract |
The first of the three unrelated essays in this dissertation is titled "Estimating the Value of Community College: Evidence from Quebec's CÉGEPs." This essay is an economic evaluation of the CEGEP system on English-speaking Quebec students. The author's conclusion is that, despite increasing educational attainment, economic estimates of the impact of CEGEPs on wages are negative. This is a result of students' lost labour market experience, a decrease in economic return to university, and an insignificant return to CEGEP.
