Abstract |
A businessman, landowner and politician, Edward Hale (1800-1875) founded the Sherbrooke Cotton Factory in 1844. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly (1841-1847) and later sat as a member of the Legislative Council (1867-1875). He was also an active member of the Sherbrooke Agricultural Society.
