Les 'Memorial Windows' : une mémoire de verre
|
Abstract |
A study of eighty memorial windows, located primarily in Protestant churches in Quebec City, that were produced between 1864 and 1957. The windows in Anglican, Congregational and Presbyterian churches were true memorials in the sense that they conveyed both the life of the deceased and the tenets of his or her religious community. In comparison, Catholic church memorial windows place more stress on religious portent.
