The author outlines the history of the short-lived interdenominational (Presbyterian, Baptist and Congregational) Canada Education and Home Missionary Society which was founded by English-speaking Montrealers in 1827 to provide ministers for communities in the Eastern Townships and the Ottawa Valley.
