Le curling au Québec entre 1870 et 1920 : une exclusion discrète des milieux francophones et ouvriers
|
Abstract |
The author argues that bourgeois Anglo-Quebecers excluded Francophones and the working class from participating in curling matches at the end of the nineteenth century. He argues that a mechanism existed to select talent through cooptation kept all those who were not part of the bourgeois Anglo-British circles of Quebec at the margins of the clubs. He says that this phenomenon was related to favoritism, a discrete form of exclusion.
