Abstract |
The author analyzes the apartment boom in Montreal and suburbs during the period 1921-1951. At first, the majority of apartments were occupied by English-speaking Quebecers and East European immigrants, but in some suburbs, such as Outremont, middle class French Canadians were also attracted to this style of housing.
