Abstract |
The Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital is an acute-care teaching hospital in Montreal which opened in 1934. Run chiefly by members of the city's Jewish community, the hospital is open to all patients regardless of race, religion, language or ethnic background. Sir Mortimer Barnett Davis (1866-1928) left most of his Montreal estate to be used for the construction of a Jewish public hospital that would bear his name.
