The Professional Role Within a Self-Help Model: A 'Widow-to-Widow' Project
|
Abstract |
The authors explore possibilities for the functions of professionals as coordinators for self-help groups, drawing on the experience of the Montreal YM/YWHA's "Widow-to-Widow Project." The project was a peer self-help group for newly widowed women to help them cope with emotional, social, educational and career issues.
