Abstract |
The crude birth rate among Jewish Montrealers in 1950 was 24.4 per 1000 (the same as among French-speaking Montrealers). The crude Jewish death rate in the city that year was 7.7 per 1000. Heart disease, cancer and diabetes were the top three causes of death among Montreal Jews in 1950.
