A history of the Scottish pioneers who settled in the Chateauguay Valley area that became Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague. The first Scottish settler in area was John Symons, who arrived in 1827. By 1851, according to the census, there were 726 English-speaking people of Scottish birth or descent living in the area.
