Abstract |
Contrasts the opposite attitudes of British army officers and colonial officials towards French Canadians in the St. Lawrence Valley and in the Northwest following the Conquest. Towards the former group the British attitude was strongly positive, while towards the latter group it was one of "despise and distrust."
