Abstract
An examination of the work of Michael Houdin and John Brooke, stationed at Quebec City, and John Ogilvie, Samuel Bennet and David C. de Lisle, stationed at Montreal, who, although military chaplains of the British Army, served the English-speaking Anglican communities in the newly-conquered colony of Quebec. The first parish clergy were officially appointed in 1768.
