Abstract |
The author outlines the various associations organized by Protestant, Catholic and Jewish Anglophone women in Quebec City in the nineteenth century. There were forty such associations founded in Quebec City between 1820 and 1900. Most of these associations were aimed at helping newly arrived female immigrants adjust to the city.
