Lost Corners: Where in the World is Crystal Falls
Abstract
Crystal Falls was a small English-speaking community located midway between Arundel and St. Jovite in Argenteuil County. The first permanent settlers in this small community were William Thomson and Margaret Currie, a Glaswegian couple who settled in Crystal Falls in 1857. Soon other Scottish and Irish settlers came, as is testified by the names on the tombstones in the Knox Church cemetery. By the early decades of the twentieth century, the village's residents began moving away. The Knox Church, the last surviving building of this now-vanished English-speaking community, burned down in the spring of 2021, although the cemetery still survives.
