Métis-sur-Mer : La poésie d’un chalet de bois
|
Abstract |
From the 1860s to the early decades of the twentieth century, Métis-sur-Mer, on Quebec's Lower North Shore, was well-known as a summer tourist destination for well-to-do Anglophone Montrealers. However, the author points out that long before it became a tourist destination, the area was settled by Scots after 1820. The author describes the type of houses that were owned by these Scottish Quebecers, some of which still exist.
