Les archives photographiques Notman du Musée McCord
|
| Abstract |
The Scottish-born William Notman (1826-1891) set up his photography studio in Montreal in 1856, just seventeen years after the discovery of the photographic process. Notman, his sons and their employees undertook a photographic record of the daily life of Montreal during the second half of the nineteenth century. This photographic record is now in McGill University’s McCord Museum archives.
