Abstract |
An examination of four French-language newspapers to determine attitudes towards politics in the period between the Durham Report and the Act of Union. The author claims that the newspapers reported that French Canadians saw Canada as "leur pays" while they thought "les anglais" saw Canada as a "terre conquise" and a "colonie".
