The North Tipperary Protestants in the Canadas : A Study of Migration, 1815-1880
|
Abstract |
The author explores the migrations to and within nineteeth-century Canada of Protestants from North Tipperary in southern Ireland. He traces the movements of 775 immigrating families between 1815 and 1880 using family reconstitution techniques. Although focusing mainly on Ontario, the author examines those Tipperary Irish who settled in the Rougemont area of Quebec, and those who settled in Montreal.
