Abstract |
The Lithuania-born Rabbi Aryeh Leib Baron (1912-2011) came to Montreal in 1948, via China and the United States, where he was appointed the Headmaster and Rosh Yeshiva of Mercaz Hatorah. He worked at the yeshiva for twenty-four years, and in 1973 he established Merkaz Hatalmud, which he led until close to his death. The author points out that Rabbi Baron wrote nine books of novellae as well as many articles, some of which were published in the Pardes journal and the Yated Neeman newspaper.
