Abstract |
The author presents a descriptive and historical study of the University Settlement of Montreal program between 1912 and 1951. Closely associated with McGill University, the University Settlement was set up to help inner-city poor by offering a library, evening classes for adults, clubs and summer camps for children, medical and dental services, and a lunch room for neighbouring factory workers.
