Abstract |
Katherine Bell Kinsman (1909-1998) was born in the United States, raised in Cuba and Jamaica, studied art in Paris before moving to Montreal in 1939, where she studied with Anne Savage and Arthur Lismer at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts School. She was noted for her watercolors representing the city, especially parts of Old Montreal. In 1980, she moved to Lennoxville, Quebec. Kinsman published three books of her art: Montreal Sketchbook (1967), Broadway Sketchbook (1974) and Lennoxville Sketchbook (1990).
