Abstract |
The Beaulne Museum, located in the Eastern Townships village of Coaticook, was founded in 1964 by Denise Beaulne. The museum is housed in the former home of Arthur Osmore Norton (1845-1919), a leading Townships industrialist. In 1942, the house was bequeathed to the Anglican Church of Canada and became a boarding school for young girls under the name of Bishop Mountain Hall. In 1976, the municipality of Coaticook purchased the building, and turned it into the Beauline Museum. Denise Beaulne (1890-1981) founded the museum to protect the history of the Anglophone and Francophone families of the area.
