Memories of Entry Island
|
| Abstract |
“Memories of Entry Island” is six videos of various lengths, each complete in themselves, recounting life (past and present) on the English-speaking community of Entry Island. Entry Island is one of the twelve-island archipelago Magdalen Islands (Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine) chain in the Gulf of St Lawrence. The producer of these videos, Brian Lewis, a Concordia University professor and filmmaker, set out to capture the stories of ordinary people in an extraordinary environment. Entry Island is a community with a long history and a very challenging future, facing the erosion of both their community vitality and the land itself.
