Écarts salariaux entre francophones et anglophones à Montréal au 19e siècle
|
Abstract |
Studying apprentices' contracts signed between individual masters and apprentices in nineteenth century Montreal, the authors found a sizeable ethnic difference in the composition and level of apprentices’ compensation, most of which points to an 'English' premium. The authors found that the differences are associated with the master's, not the apprentice's, ethnicity.
