| Abstract |
An analysis of trends and development of radio programming in the 1930s in Montreal, Vancouver and Halifax. The author looks at a random sample of radio schedules published in the Montreal Gazette, the Vancouver Sun and the Halifax Herald in order to re-create the broadcasting environments of the three cities over the decade. She explores and explains how Canadian radio stations survived the Depression by diversifying their offerings through the use of a combination of local and network, and Canadian and American programming.
