Abstract |
Schwartz's Montreal Hebrew Delicatessen, better known simply as Schwartz's Deli, was founded in 1928 by Jewish-Romanian immigrant Reuben Schwartz. It has been an institution on Montreal's St. Laurent Boulevard for over eighty years, with its international reputation for its smoked meat sandwiches. The author interviews Frank Silva, the restaurant's General Manager, who has worked at Schwartz's for some thirty-five years.
