Abstract |
Adam Kirk Cameron (1874-1967) was an educationalist, industrialist, and prominent federal Liberal. He had been vice-president and a director of Investment Foundation Ltd., a director of A.B. Ormsby Ltd., St. Lawrence Corporation Ltd., president of the Montreal Chamber of Mines, and a member of the Montreal Board of Trade. He was a member of the Protestant Council of Education for Quebec for over forty years. In the 1935 federal election, he was an unsuccessful Liberal candidate. As a members of the Protestant Council Cameron campaigned for increased financial aid for Quebec's Protestant schools, for rural consolidation, and for the establishment of a Ministry of Education.
