Title |
My Life Without Leonard Cohen
|
Abstract |
The author describes life at McGill University in the mid-1950s, especially a couse she had taken with Montreal poet Louis Dudek (1918-2001) titled Great Writings of European Literature. Among her classmates was Leonard Cohen (1934-2016), who even at that point was already being recognized for his poetry. The author describes her friendship with Cohen and Dudek (and her once school-girl crush on Dudek) and how their three lives mingled and eventually separated.
