Abstract |
The autobiography of Montreal-born Edgar M. Bronfman Sr. (1929-2013), the son to Samuel Bronfman, founder of Seagram's, the largest distiller of alcoholic beverages in the world. The first chapter of the book outlines his early years in Montreal and his rebellion against his Zionist father. After graduating from McGill University in 1951, he entered the family business and became president of Seagram's in 1971 following his father's death. He also embraced his Jewish faith and served as president of the World Jewish Congress from 1981 to 2007.
