|
| Abstract |
The Beauharnois Power scandal was an example of political bribery to achieve private profit. The Montreal-based Beauharnois Heat, Light and Power Corporation gave the federal Liberal Party $750,000 prior to the 1930 election for permission to divert the St. Lawrence River through its Beauharnois Power plant.
