Abstract |
The Montreal Clinical Society was founded in 1923 by Jewish doctors at a time when it was difficult for them to find professional appointments in Montreal. The directors of the Montreal Clinical Society, which comprised some thirty Jewish physicians in the 1920s, pioneered the idea of establishing a Jewish hospital in the city. The Jewish General Hospital opened its doors in October 1934.
