| Abstract |
In 1918, the bodies interred in the Union Cemetery on Belvedere Street in Sherbrooke's South Ward were removed and reburied in Elmwood Cemetery in the Eastern Townships city's North Ward. Union Cemetery had been established in 1849 for the city's Congregational, Methodist, Presbyterian and Baptist congregations. The author outlines the controversy and politics surrounding the move.
