Abstract |
Founded in 1823, the Montreal-based international law firm helped launch the CPR and represented the Bank of Montreal, Bell Canada and the Prince of Wales (Edward VIII). The firm was founded by William Badgley (1801-1888), who was also the first lecturer in law at McGill University. In 1998, McMaster Meighen merged with the Montreal firm of Mackenzie Gervais to become McMaster Gervais. In 2000, McMaster Gervais merged with four other law firms based across Canada to become Borden Lander Gervais.
