| Abstract |
When the Montreal World’s Fair opened in April 1967, it was home to not one but two pavilions with Jewish themes. One was the Israel Pavilion – the official Pavilion of the Israeli state; the other was a separate Pavilion of Judaism built and operated under the auspices of the organized Jewish community in Montreal. The author examines the presence of two separate Jewish pavilions at Expo 67, and what its said about the divergent agendas of the Israeli state and the organized Jewish community of Montreal in the mid-1960s.
