Rethinking Catholic-Protestant Relations in Canada: The Episcopal Report of 1900-1901
|
Abstract |
In 1900, Pope Leo XIII requested that the Apostolic Delegate to Canada conduct a survey to determine the nature and extent of Protestant proselytism in Canada. Quebec Bishops, for the most part, claimed that Catholics in the province had cordial relations with their Protestant neighbours, who were not seen as a religious threat.
