Abstract |
The Scottish-born Peter McLeod was the founder of Chicoutimi, Quebec. Prior to his coming to Canada in the early nineteenth century, he was an engineer, surveyor and officer in the British army. His son, Peter McLeod Junior (1807-1852), was a timber contractor in the Saguenay and Charlevoix regions of Quebec. The author offers genealogical information on the McLeod family.
