Abstract |
A history of boating on Lake Massawippi, starting with the first multi-passenger steamer that was launched in 1879 to the single-passenger personal watercrafts that appeared in the 1980s. At different times between 1879 and 1912, four steamboats plied the lake between North Hatley and Ayer’s Cliff. The North Hatley Canoe Club was established in 1897.
