The authors studied the job motivation and satisfaction of 216 Francophone and Anglophone employees of two Montreal hospitals. They concluded that: (a) interesting work was the most important job outcome for both Anglophones and Francophones; (b) Anglophones were more concerned with autonomy and achievement than were Francophones; (c) Francophones were more concerned with security and fringe benefits than were Anglophones; and (d) Francophones felt more job satisfaction than Anglophones.
