A study of the influence of one company on the architecture and urban space of Shawinigan. The Shawinigan Water and Power Company, founded in 1898 by American and Canadian businessmen (John Joyce, John Edward Aldred, H.H. Melville, A.F. Gault, Thomas McDougall and Louis-Joseph Forget), exerted what was essentially a zoning control over the city.
