Abstract |
The Champlain and Saint Lawrence Railway Company built the first railway in Canada, between St. John (now St-Jean-sur-Richelieu) and La Prairie, in 1836. The company was financed by Montreal entrepreneur and brewery owner, John Molson (1763-1836).
