Abstract |
The first community of Greeks to settle in Quebec City was a group of families from the village of Anavriti, in the Laconia region of southern Greece. By 1915 there were 25 Greek families in the provincial capital. Not accepted in French Catholic schools, they sent their children to Protestant schools and integrated into the city’s Anglophone community.
