Title
The Missisquoi Loyalists
Abstract
The author gives an historical sketch of the antecedents and background of the American Loyalists who settled in Missisquoi County in the eighteenth century, as illustrated by the personal experiences of Peter Miller, an Irish-born weaver by trade who immigrated to the United States in 1769 and was forced out of that country for refusing to take an oath of allegiance to the rebel government.
