Canada's Language Transfer Phenomenon
Abstract
An overview of linguistic patterns in Canada based on 1981 census data. The author points out that the English mother-tongue population in Quebec dropped 2.1 percent from 1971, to eleven percent of the total Quebec population. The French mother-tongue group in the province increased during this same period.
