Abstract |
The authors review the contemporary demographic evolution of Quebec society (circa 1980s), specifically considering population growth in Quebec and the respective contributions of natural increase and migration to the present rate of growth. They then examine the issues of linguistic composition, language, assimilation, and the volume of and the composition of immigration to Quebec, as well as nuptiality, fertility, divorce and aging on the future of the population.
