Print culture in British North America to 1840 was made up of printers and apprentices, newspaper publishers, bookbinders, engravers, lithographers, papermakers, booksellers, peddlers, evangelists, librarians and collectors, and budding authors. This book is a collection of short essays on various aspects of that culture, with general and specific references to English-speaking Lower Canada.
