Title
Quebec Fiction in English During the 1980s: A Case Study in Marginality
Abstract
Examines reasons for the widespread Canadian disinterest in the works of English-language fiction from Quebec written in the 1980s. The author argues that this body of literature as a whole is the only substantial work of Canadian fiction that shows an interest in relations between Francophones and non-Francophones. She points out that, appropriately, marginality is very often the principal subject of much of this fiction.
